Oops – looks like you misspelled Sylva Leduc’s name

Opps! Sylva's name was spelled wrong

Uh oh!  You ended up on this page because you spelled some part of Sylva Leduc’s name incorrectly.

Guess what! You are not alone. Read to the end and you will be rewarded.

Her first name is spelled S-y-l-v-a and is without an “i” because it’s from her Norwegian heritage.

Sometimes people mix up the letters and her name ends up as Slyva, which, if you think about it, could be pronounced as saliva.

When people hear her name for the first time, occasionally they think it’s Sofa.  Yes, you read that right.  Sylva is a Coach — not a Couch!

While her full name is Sylva, it’s okay to call her Syl.  Just don’t write or pronounce it as Sly.  We don’t think Sylvester Stallone would be too happy.  Unless you think of Sylva as the “Rambo of Coaching.”

Want to hear one more funny combination?  Her last name is Leduc and is pronounced as LeDuke or LaDuke.

Can you guess how some people pronounce her last name?  If you guessed La Duck, you win a prize.ducky1

UPDATE (August 2009): When I was on vacation this month I was introduced to someone who thought my name was ‘Hilda.’

Nothing wrong with that name, but it’s just not me.  I’ve added that name to the many mispronunciations.

If you have read this far and really know how to pronounce/spell my name then I’d love to send my book to you, for free. I’ll even cover the cost of shipping and handling.
